All of us who follow the Fitzwilliam (Milton) Hunt on a horse, in a car or on foot owe our unqualified gratitude for the privilege of being allowed to hunt over farmers' land each season.
The past couple of years have been amongst the most miserable in the history of farming, and yet the cheerfulness and hospitality and, yes, tolerance and patience, too, with which the local farmers and land owners co-operate with the Hunt is quite overwhelming.
Hunting relies ever more upon the continued support of the
farming community. Not just for access to land, but also on the
continued political support that we need to fight off a legal
ban of Hunting with Hounds. We realise that for many farmers it
is not the Hunting itself, but more the right of the countryside
to self-determination, and the awareness that Hunting would just
be the start, that you are fighting for; but we are still grateful
that so many of you choose to make your stand and fight with us.

As an additional service, we hope to introduce an e-mail reminder system which will send you an e-mail reminder a couple of days before hounds are due in your area. This will be an additional automated service, and will not replace or reduce the current system of visits, telephone calls and notes.
Unfortunately, however, the operation of this system is currently beyond my technical means, and the Internet Service Providers won't answer my help inquiries - so it may bew some time in arriving,.
