People only go hunting because they are Sadists. - MYTH

Hunting people are not sadists. The reason for this is very simple :

Hunting would make a very BAD way to try to "enjoy" sadism.

There would not be enough "Sadistic Thrills" to justify the effort

You do not need to take my word for it. Visit any hunt (? How do I do this ?), and check it out for yourself.

Consider the following facts :

• Foxes run faster than fox hounds
• Fox hounds run faster than horses
• Foxes and hounds run straight across country, whereas the mounted followers (the "Field") have to go around obstacles, crops.
• The majority of hunt followers follow by car or on foot, and thus, are left even further behind.
• Foxes usually run from patch of cover to patch of cover.
• Hounds hunt by smell not by sight, so they do not chase the fox continually, but in stops and starts as they lose and re-find the trail of "scent" (smell).

So what does all this mean?

It means that, on most occasions, the followers get left behind and when the fox is killed by the hounds, it is killed several fields away, out of sight inside a patch of woodland or other cover.

Now ask yourself this :

"If I were a sadist, where would the fun be in that?"

The only answer is : "Nowhere."

It would be like a football fan standing in the road three streets away from the Stadium, trying to enjoy the match.

He knows It's going on, but he could not see it, he could not experience it – he could not enjoy it.

Sadists would not go hunting because there is nothing for Sadists to enjoy out hunting.

So why do people go out hunting?
